Beechcliffe Thackley is celebrating the growing impact of its new on-site gym facility, which is proving invaluable for both students and staff.
Since opening, the gym has become a hub of activity, with students taking part in dedicated sessions to stay active, build fitness, and improve their wellbeing. The benefits are clear – regular exercise is boosting energy levels, sharpening focus, and supporting engagement across lessons.
The gym has also sparked creativity and teamwork. A recent rowing challenge saw students collectively row the equivalent distance of crossing the Channel to raise funds for the school residential. Activities like this encourage friendly competition, collaboration, and a real sense of achievement. Many students are so motivated that they have even started asking to use the gym before the school day begins, setting personal goals and building confidence and resilience along the way.
Staff have also embraced the facility, using the gym before the school day as part of their own wellbeing routines. This has helped promote a culture of health and fitness across the whole school community, supporting staff wellbeing and energy throughout the day.
The gym is quickly becoming a central part of school life at Beechcliffe Thackley, providing a safe, engaging space for everyone to stay active, achieve personal goals, and celebrate success together.
That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.
